Marblehead MA is known for having amazing seafood restaurants and one its best known is The Landing Pub & Restaurant. Located directly on the town’s historic waterfront, diners can watch their next meal coming directly off the boat from the outdoor deck. The pub also features live music and the restaurant is a popular choice for locals to host fundraisers and community events.

The design objective was to incorporate all these aspects into the site without completely breaking away from the look of the original site. Jenn’s Web worked with manager Robert Simonelli to come up with a clean layout that could highlight the menu as well as repurpose the “porthole icons” for a sidebar navigation feature.

One element that is usually a challenge when designing restaurant sites is how to create a menu system that can be easily maintained once the site is turned over to the client. In this case, the Landing had signed on with the Single Platform restaurant menu service. The manager updated menus there, and then changes were pushed out to Yelp, Google and onto the website.
