About the Project
Local business owner Nancy DeFazio-Beaupere originally put an ad on Craig’s List asking if anyone would let their dog “hang” with her poodle Dingo while she ran her family’s trucking business. No one responded, so she decided to change her ad to charging a fee to dogsit instead. Calls started coming in and next thing she knew, Nancy had a dogsitting service named Dingo’s Dogsitting.
After being in business a couple of years using a hubspot account, Nancy decided to make the jump to WordPress in order to have more control over her site’s layout. She came to Jenn’s Web looking for help in creating a site that would better reflect the business and I was thrilled to start working with them.
I mean, who wouldn’t be delighted to have a dog like Dingo as a client?
While pulling a couple of years’ worth of blog posts over from the old Hubspot site took a little time, it was a great opportunity to learn about the business. Nancy is a devoted dog mom herself and loves to share her experience and expertise with her clients. (A swim in the ocean can wash out skunk odor, who knew?)
In addition to diligently maintaining the Dingo’s blog, Nancy and her employees have created an amazing Instagram account that chronicles daily life at the kennel as well as adventures on the Dog Bus.
We were able to embed their Instagram feed into a page which made a gallery for the site much easier to maintain. Other elements of the final design include a home page slider with a Call to Action on every slide, a FAQ page that uses an accordion-style layout for quick browsing, and incorporating links out to the business’s Pet Exec booking service.
